Flirfiy̼empe Se (Flirfiy̼ /ˈempe/ [eclipse] [cane]) is a subtropical Large Town located in the Eyj̼íhrriq Region of the Tetbur Commune.
The name Flirfiy̼empe Se is derived from the Tauric language, as Flirfiy̼empe Se was founded by Erist Prother Gwilym Qíhgā, who was culturaly Tauric.
Climate
Flirfiy̼empe Se has a yearly average temperature of 27°C (80°F), with its average temperature during the summer being a hot 31°C (87°F) and its average temperature during the winter being a pleasant 24°C (75°F). Flirfiy̼empe Se receives an average of 239 cm/y (94 in/y) of precipitation, most of which comes in the form of rain during the summer. Flirfiy̼empe Se covers an area of nearly 6 km2 (2 mi2), and an average elevation of 5820 m (19094 ft) above sea level.
Overview
Flirfiy̼empe Se was founded durring the early 12th century in winter of the year 1103, by Erist Prother Gwilym Qíhgā. The establishment of Flirfiy̼empe Se was only bairly constructed. The sheer number of problems with its founding were enough to make several of the backers funding Flirfiy̼empe Se's construction back out of the project. Erist Prother Gwilym Qíhgā pushed on reguardles, and Flirfiy̼empe Se was finished, but starts off as a terible place to live.
Flirfiy̼empe Se was built using the conventions of Tauric durring the early 12th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Flirfiy̼empe Se is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature timber framed wooden shiethed or brick construction, which gives form to a very formalized, rational, expence effishent arcatectural style based on strictly symmetrical designs which universaly feature pitched roofs, shutters, and the occasional column or pilaster for a decorative touch.
Flirfiy̼empe Se is buildings are grouped arround an odd layout of restrictive paverstone streets, which seems to be based on an overlapping squair patern such that there are small squares at the cornor of every bigger square. Sometimes buildings exist in the smaller squaires, other times they are open spaces, or occupied by temporary structures. The town rests behind a thin stone wall. The wall's design was likly directly copied from a castle's parmiter defences. It's simply that the arcatect made Flirfiy̼empe Se's wall substancialy thinner than a castle's walls. While the towers and gatehouses are adiquite, the obvious cost savings measure of making the walls drasticaly thinner reduces their ability to resist siege weapons greatly. The town's impressive-looking wall could fail at a critical moment in battle, and would likely not even resist a few bandits with improvised siege equipment. Flirfiy̼empe Se's budget oriented are suffering from significent damage, so much so that examples can be pointed to no matter which section one might have within their line of site, and most of which render sections inoperable at present.
A look around Flirfiy̼empe Se shows Flirfiy̼empe Se as a den of corruption. Birbes can be seen changing hands openly, such that it must be customary to do so and must have been for a long time. The locals have no fear, no annoyance at the state of things, it simply is. The town has another layer to it as well. Locals can be overheard having academic discussions, as well as talking about scholarly subjects in general. It’s quite clear Flirfiy̼empe Se places a lot of value on education and being a learned individual, or at least, faking it.
Civic Infrastructure
Flirfiy̼empe Se has an Office of Civil Groundskeeping, which works to enforce local ordinances relating to the construction and upkeep up of all plant life, water features, and other natural decorations within Flirfiy̼empe Se. They are also responsible for the maintenance of these features. Notably, the OCG is not responsible for Flirfiy̼empe Se's parks.
Flirfiy̼empe Se has an Office of Civil Vicary, which is responsible for providing a livelyhood for all officialy recognised religious figures within Flirfiy̼empe Se.
Flirfiy̼empe Se has a Gravedigger's Guild, which is responsible for collecting the dead and laying them to rest according to all applicable laws and religious customs.
Flirfiy̼empe Se has a Highwayman's Guild, which is tasked with maintaining the roads and highways leading into town as well as keeping them safe for travelers.
Flirfiy̼empe Se has a monistary of an order of Civil Monks, who provide divine-related services to the general public and maintain Flirfiy̼empe Se's public wards, blessings, and other arcane systems.
Flirfiy̼empe Se has a Parks and Recreation Department, which is responsible for the construction, management, and usage rights for all of its parks and parklands. They are not to be confused with the Office of Civil Groundskeeping as they do not hold authority over nor responsibility for Flirfiy̼empe Se's natural decorations nor waterways.
Flirfiy̼empe Se has a Guild of Roadworkers, who are responsible for maintaining the roadways and public paths within town. They also have the duty of enforcing all civil laws relating to the roadways.
Flirfiy̼empe Se has a public schooling program overseen by the Hall of Sages who has the responsibility of ensuring access to affordable high-quality education in all basic classes (Reading, Writing, Mathmatics, General Sciences, General Arcana, and Social Education) is made available to all citizens.
Flirfiy̼empe Se has a public septic system, which allows its citizens to have indoor bathrooms. The septic system is overseen by the League of Sewerkeepers, who posses the legal authority to enforce all laws relating to the septic system, and are also tasked with its maintenance and upkeep.
Cultural Notes
While Flirfiy̼empe Se might ostensibly be ruled by some other power, real control lies with the senior members of the local craft and labor guilds. Their decisions have the practical weight of law, and much of their time and effort is spent squeezing out competitors and parceling out economic opportunities in the community. Some guilds might have little or nothing to do with their original trade, and now exist purely as shells for political influence.
Flirfiy̼empe Se's chapel was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used is admittedly strange and non-linear style rooted in defiance of symmetrical shapes. It championed the creation of buildings with a unique visual appearance. the structural norms of classic buildings and deforms or moves away from elementary architectural principles. By including non-linear designs processed into its buildings and favoring fragmentation, this style expressed a form of controlled chaos. Its buildings appear out-of-the-ordinary, draw the eye in immediately and sometimes create a feeling of strangeness. These distorted shapes and structure are not reserved to the building’s outer facade, they destabilize interior elements too, favoring minimalism and play on people’s perceptions by injecting a futuristic touch.
Due to the actions of local Kami, spring is long in Flirfiy̼empe Se.
The Ahlinni near Flirfiy̼empe Se are known to be almost tame, such that they can be put to domestic use.
Flirfiy̼empe Se's citizens partake in a curious ritual relating to their local kami. It takes place in winter and involves embarking on a group pilgrimage to channel Wild Magic energies of tier 1 via recitation of scripture.
Economy

In time immemorial, reportedly some time during the late 2nd century a most peculiar disaster struck Flirfiy̼empe Se, causing great chunks of ice to fall from the sky. Flirfiy̼empe Se lost 146 people, 392 livestock, and 50 buildings in the disaster.. The ice rain is generally remembered as the Terror Rain.
